Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park – Canopy Walkway experience
Get ready for an exhilarating adventure as you experience the breathtaking Nyungwe National Park from a unique perspective. The canopy walk is an unforgettable experience that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
You’ll start your day early as you depart Kigali at 07:00 am, heading towards Nyungwe National Park. The journey takes approximately 5 hours, but the anticipation of the adventure ahead will make the time fly by. Once you arrive at the park, you’ll meet your guide and start your canopy walk adventure. As you walk along the suspension bridge suspended 70 meters above the forest floor, you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and stunning views that take your breath away.
The canopy walk takes approximately 2 hours, during which you’ll be able to see the forest from a unique perspective and even spot some of the wildlife that calls Nyungwe National Park home. After the canopy walk, you’ll head back to the visitor center for a delicious lunch.
After having lunch, you will then transfer to Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel. Upon arrival in the evening, you will be assisted with check-in while enjoying a welcome drink. Dinner will be served, and you will spend the night at the hotel.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking experience & Transfer back to Kigali
Enjoy an early breakfast and then make your way to the park headquarters for a briefing on the chimpanzee trekking activity. Accompanied by a park ranger and a guide, you’ll venture onto the jungle trails for an unforgettable rainforest experience. After a short while, you’ll locate your designated chimpanzee troop, which you’ll follow and observe for the next hour. Chimpanzee bands are constantly on the move, making noise, grooming, stopping for snacks or naps, and your challenge will be to keep up with them under the guidance of the park guide.
After your unforgettable experience observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, return to your hotel for an early lunch and check-out. Take a moment to bid farewell to the wonderful team at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel before embarking on a 5-hour drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be transferred either to your hotel or to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight. Bid farewell to your driver-guide as you conclude your unforgettable trip.
The meal plan for the day will include breakfast and lunch with a soft drink.
